Gateway Hotel & Conference Center is currently seeking an Housekeeping Intern. This is a great position for students studying Hospitality Management, who seek a well-rounded holistic perspective of hotel operations! This is a paid internship, where job duties will vary based on business. Some weekend availability is required. Start dates and end dates will be discussed during the interview process.
Interns will assist with day to day operations such as assisting employees in the room attendant, laundry and/or porter positions, in addition to acting in these roles periodically.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for opening the day, including assigning the boards/room assignments
Inspecting and turning guest rooms when presentation is satisfactory
Assisting other departments as needed, when guest requests are made
Taking care of lost and found items for property
Assist housekeeping manager with personnel related items, including scheduling, and accident reports, etc.
- Working towards a degree from a college or university, preferably in the area of hospitality management
- Must be able to squat, lift, and transport at least 75 lbs
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Able to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments in a fast-paced workplace
