The Gateway Hotel & Conference Center is looking for a restaurant manager to lead our team of front of house restaurant associates to provide exceptional quality service to our guests. The hours for this position will vary and open night and weekend availability is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Delivering first-class customer service on a consistent basis

  • A working knowledge of hotel restaurants

  • Manage the daily operations of the restaurant front of house, including maintaining product, reservations, and food & beverage presentation and service

  • Monitor and control the maintenance / sanitation of the restaurant areas

  • Assist our sales department in the execution of special events and large reservations

  • Assist in menu generation

  • Manage social media accounts and marketing

  • Places regular and routine liquor, beer, wine, linen, and supply orders through vendors, following all vendor and Gateway expectations

  • Complete inventory on a monthly basis, including liquor and hardware, and other items as directed

  • Produce a weekly schedule

  • Complete all human resources and payroll paperwork on a weekly basis, including timeclock management, tip reporting and any additional paperwork

  • Submit signed, dated and coded invoices on a weekly basis to manager

  • Actively participate in the hiring process as well as maintain open communication with all staff, including training, development, coaching and performance reviews

  • Comply with attendance requirements and be available to work on a regular basis, including evenings and weekends

  • Foster a teamwork environment to improve productivity and operational efficiency of all restaurant associates

  • Act as member of the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center management team, including complying with standards of the Manager on Duty program at all times and attending management meetings

Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2-3 years experience in restaurant management/supervising. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Micros or other POS System, and learn property management system. Must be able to squat, lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
